Privacy notice

This notice sets out what the valuation service collects and what happens to it.

We store what belongs to the valuation: the weight and purity of the jewellery, the photos you send, the amount of the estimate, and the contact details you give us — name, email address, phone number and town.

We do not store anything from the credit application. The questions about income, outgoings and debts that come with applying for an advance are handled only in your browser and never reach our service. We do not handle or store a personal identity code either.

The advance is granted by a finance partner, who makes the credit decision on their own criteria. What reaches us is whether an advance was granted, and for how much.

Your data is kept within the European Union.

The service stores a random identifier in your browser so that we can tell visits apart. We record which pages are opened, which buttons are clicked and how far down a page is read, so that we can see what works. We also store your network address from your first visit: it is what lets us tell real visitors apart from the automated traffic that arrives at the site constantly. We store the identifier your browser reports as well, which is how we separate people from search engines and other automated fetchers. We do not follow you to other sites. The measurement runs on our own server and the data is not passed to anyone.

There is a filtering service in front of the site that blocks harmful automated traffic before it reaches our server. Every visit passes through it, and it sees your network address and the page you asked for. To tell a person from a machine it runs a small check in your browser in the background. It happens by itself and asks nothing of you. The provider handles that data under its own terms.

We do not delete valuation data and photos automatically after a fixed period. We keep them for as long as running the service requires. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
